Put the 'A' in Adventure

Sorry for the late posts, we are only able to post when we have internet connection.  The first day had all of the elements of an adventure, 3 mountain passes conquered, 3 rain storms (1 small, 2 torrential), and meeting up with good friends.

After driving through 2 rain storms (first time for my daughter to be on a motorcycle in the rain) and traveling 320 miles over 3 mountain passes, we rode into Half Moon Lake, WY to meet up with my good friend, Nick, his family and their friends.  After a couple of cold beverages, kids playing in the lake, setting up our tent,  we decided to go out to dinner at the camp ground restaurant (great restaurant).  While at dinner the storm clouds rolled in and opened up....it rained and rained hard for 4-5 hours.  I thought "this is great, I can test the new tent before Alaska".  When we arrived back at the camp site, our tent was in a puddle of water, about 3 inches deep.  Not good. water proof doesn't mean submersible.  Lani helped me move the tent to another spot, and all was, well.  It was raining so hard, my passenger wanted to sleep in Nick's camper.  I slept solo and dry!  Great tent.

What a great way to kick off the first day of our Alaska adventure.  Thanks to the Jackson Crew for letting us crash their trip.  Hell Nick even cooked us breakfast!
