The Canadian Rockies rock!!!!

Day 6 started out gloomy with light rain.  First we rode to the lake I've wanted to visit since 1998 when a good friend named Louise visited on her honeymoon.  Lake Louise is spectacular.  A pristine turquoise color lake surrounded by mountains, covered in ice and snow.  After a short visit to Lake Louise, we rode north on the Icefields Parkway.   If this road isn't on your bucket list, add it.  144 miles and 2 national parks.  It is worth the trip alone.  Alaska has to be spectacular to top the Icefields Parkway.  The Glaciers and ice are hundreds of feet thick and the mountains are rugged and jagged, the streams and lakes are turquoise/blue and crystal clear, nothing like I've saw before.   The hike to the Columbia Glacier is awesome, it is amazing how fast the glaciers are receding.  The wildlife we're encountering is unbelievable.  Today we saw a Caribou with a HUGE antlers, a female moose, 5 mountain goats, and a beaver. Altogether we rode 325 miles today, 1,505 total miles to date.  With an 80% chance of rain, lots of black clouds and my daughter's headache, we opted for a hotel.
